Special Needs Adoption
A Description
Although Hogares does
not provide direct adoption services, staff facilitates the adoption of "special
needs" children for whom homes are difficult to find. Hogares completes
home studies and provides training for parents interested in adopting or fostering
children who are in the
custody of the State of New Mexico. Working under contract with Children,
Youth and Families Department (CYFD) adoptions are accelerated when a
family has been evaluated, trained and is ready for child placement.
