The race provides for a complete family experience, giving the youth and adults of today the chance to participate in an elite athletic event while providing participants the opportunity to give back to the community. By aligning itself with Hogares Inc., State Farm continues to demonstrate its commitment to responsible community building efforts.
For over three decades, Hogares, Inc. has been helping young people cope with the pressures of growing up in a fast paced, high pressured world. Our comprehensive treatment programs provide for care from counseling on an outpatient basis to treatment in a live-in setting. Our programs work! More than 70% of the youth who have been through our program are living successfully in the community.
Our mission has not changed since our inception in 1971, "To meet the therapeutic needs and educational needs of our youth in a safe and caring environment through teamwork and dedication." Unfortunately, economic times have changed. Levels of funding have decreased and are increasingly difficult to obtain.
Your participation in the 8th Annual State Farm Stride For Pride 5000 on April 23, 2006 will help raise funds for and increase awareness of the programs we provide for youth in Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico.
